About

The purpose of this blog is to express my thoughts about my life with Primary Progressive Aphasia, which a language disorder that causes me to have difficulty speaking. It is rare and I don’t have the opportunity to talk to anyone who has experience with it. If you haven’t heard of it (I haven’t met anyone who has), it affects the ability to produce and understand oral and written language.

So far, I only have difficulty speaking, both articulating and putting my thoughts together while talking. I can still understand when people speak to me, and I can still read and write. Because of this, words, thoughts and ideas are so important to me.

I have a theory that the reason it is so unheard of is that when a person is affected by PPA, it gets hard to interact socially, and they tend to become invisible. This is my attempt to not just fade away, and I hope that others will join the discussion.
